Today, I retired my favorite black leather loafers, stretched and broken-in from laps up and down the galleries and offices of the River East Art Center. "I'll miss this place," I thought, after saying my goodbyes. I probably wont be fortunate enough to have a contemporary art gallery as my office again any time soon. I slid the loafers, still soiled with a bit of salt residue from the wintery downtown streets, under the lowest level on my shoe rack. I reached for a dust rag and began cleaning my hiking shoes...
Two weeks.
